Enhancing Rehabilitation and Prosthetics Education with KOLO Foundation’s Support
Thanks to the Charitable Foundation KOLO, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has launched advanced qualification courses in rehabilitation and prosthetics. This initiative is a crucial step toward improving the quality of rehabilitation services in Ukraine.


Collaboration Between KOLO Foundation and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute
The partnership between KOLO Foundation and KPI began with the establishment of the Educational and Innovation Center for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation at the Institute of Postgraduate Education. This center has since become the foundation for specialized training programs designed to enhance the expertise of professionals in the field.
Functions of the Center
The Educational and Innovation Center for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation focuses on:
Providing theoretical and practical training in rehabilitation engineering (prosthetics, orthotics), rehabilitation therapy, and occupational therapy.
Offering professional development opportunities for specialists, including academic and research staff.
Conducting research and innovation in rehabilitation engineering and integrating advancements into clinical practice.
Collaborating with donors and investors to improve prosthetics development and professional training.
Organizing workshops, masterclasses, and international expert-led training sessions.
Facilitating prosthetic rehabilitation and improving access to rehabilitation services for patients in need.
Courses offering
The center offers various professional development courses, including:
Limb Prosthetics Qualification Course: Focuses on advanced techniques in upper and lower limb prosthetics, clinical psychology, and prosthetic rehabilitation.
Prosthetic Rehabilitation Course: Covers pre-prosthetic rehabilitation, patient recovery during prosthetic adaptation, and social reintegration.
Military Psychology Course: Equips participants with skills to provide psychological support to military personnel and civilians affected by trauma.
Adaptive Trainer-Instructor Course for Military Personnel, Veterans, and Their Families: Trains specialists in physical and sports rehabilitation for veterans, emphasizing holistic and individualized approaches.

Impact of the Program
