Neurostimulation: Restoring Lives with Advanced Medical Solutions

Neurostimulation is a modern medical technique that helps restore nerve function in patients suffering from severe neurological impairments. This method plays a crucial role in rehabilitative surgery, particularly in cases of nerve damage caused by traumatic injuries, including those sustained during wartime.

When nerves are damaged, patients often experience severe mobility issues such as paresis, paralysis, contractures, and other complications leading to disability. Even after surgical intervention, nerve recovery can be slow and uncertain. This is where neurostimulation becomes a game-changer.

A neurostimulator is a specialized medical device implanted in the patient’s body to deliver controlled electrical impulses to the affected nerves. This stimulation enhances neural activity and accelerates functional recovery. In cases where the nerve remains anatomically intact but is functionally impaired, neurostimulation has proven to be an exceptionally effective rehabilitation method. Patients can actively participate in their own recovery, adjusting the stimulation as needed over several months to optimize nerve restoration.

Despite the significant demand for neurostimulators, these essential devices are not covered by the state budget in Ukraine. As a result, many patients who could benefit from this life-changing technology face financial barriers to accessing treatment.

Within HELP NOW Program our Foundation managed to fundraise and buy 95 neurostimulators for those who were affected by war. This way we get people back to healthy lives.

At the KOLO Charitable Foundation, we are committed to supporting medical initiatives, particularly in the field of reconstructive surgery. Through our “Help Now: Neurostimulation” program, we provide funding for neurostimulators, produced in Ukraine, ensuring that patients in need can regain mobility and improve their quality of life. Our mission is to give individuals the chance to heal, recover, and regain independence.

“For many patients, neurostimulation marks the beginning of a new life. Some describe the moment their fingers, foot, or leg start moving again as a second birthday” - said Ihor Tretiak, Head of the Department of Reconstructive Neurosurgery with X-ray Surgery, Acad. A. P. Romodanov Institute of Neurosurgery of NAMS of Ukraine.

With the collective effort of compassionate donors and medical professionals, we can make these success stories possible.

Join us in restoring hope and mobility. Your support can change lives.
